This herb seldom causes side effects. Long term large usage can deplete potassium and can cause dizziness and palpitation because of its diuretic effect. This can be corrected with intake of food with higher potassium. It is advisable to monitor potassium level with blood test in long term usage.

In rare occasions, decrease of blood cells had occurred but recovered after stopping the administration of the herb.
